Geo Smart Decisions work regularly with clients involved in large infrastructure and transport developments both in the UK and abroad. Using high resolution imagery and in consultation with in-country field ecologists and surveyors, GSD develops land cover and habitat models. These are created using satellite Earth Observation imagery, in-house scripting as well as professional remote sensing software and enable our clients to identify the location of sensitive habitat, areas for regeneration as well as provide data to assist and inform the entire planning and development process.

Examples of work at GSD over the years include pier developments, where we have created benthic habitat models and bathymetry datasets working with diver survey data and bathymetry data collected on site; large residential developments both terrestrial and coastal; railway lines such as Qatar Rail in the Middle East; large pipeline projects in Africa as well as overhead transmission lines and underground and undersea cabling routes.
