Our story so far

Geo Smart Decisions (GSD) has been providing expert GIS, mapping, spatial data management and spatial analysis services to the environment sector since September 2011. The company has a strong grounding in environmental science with Director and Co-Founder Crona Hodges (nee O’Shea) having a first-class degree in Environmental Science from University of Stirling and nearly fifteen years of experience working in the environmental planning sector, specialising in applications that involve spatial data, GIS and satellite Earth Observation.

As a company, GSD has grown and expanded over the years and now works across the, public, private and the not-for-profit sectors; our clients range from small to multinational environmental businesses and include landscape architects, environmental consultants, ecologists and planners all over the UK and abroad.

Our way of working at GSD begins with listening closely to our clients to fully understand the environmental data and management requirements and challenges at hand. Once the requirement is fulling understood, we apply our knowledge and expertise in spatial data and analysis, to gather data and build the tools an data required to meet those requirements and ultimately contribute to more informed and effective decision-making. At GSD, we believe strongly in developing positive, long-term relationships with not only our clients, but also our peers and partner organisations and we very much enjoy bringing together and working with teams of specialists to provide bespoke services for our clients as and when this is required.
